My name is Katherine, I am an Art Psychotherapist & the founder of Sydney Art Therapy.

I specialise in providing Art Therapy to children & young people age 10-24 years, who are experiencing challenges associated with mental health & disabilities.

At Sydney Art Therapy our mission is to provide accessibility to Art Therapy for all young persons in Australia and globally.

We have included 3 Art Therapy services designed to reach everybody with any health condition at any location.

  1. Art Therapy - Studio

  2. Art Therapy - Mobile

  3. Art Therapy - Online

Over the past 10 years Art Therapy has earned and gained its place as the leading therapeutic choice for persons with a disability or mental health condition.

There is good news for Australians. Art Therapy is endorsed, accredited & fully funded under the NDIS to provide art therapy to children and young persons with a disability or mental health condition.

I am pleased to confirm I am a registered NDIS provider and able to provide Art Therapy to children, young persons and adults who are either NDIA or plan managed participants.

If you are a parent or a young person contemplating art therapy, please rest assured. Art Therapy is now the first choice for parents investing in their child's future because Art Therapy WORKS & even better it is FUN

ART THERAPY IS THE FIRST CHOICE FOR PARENTS

Why parents are choosing Art Therapy as their FIRST CHOICE.

  1. Children & young people ENGAGE & COMMIT when they experience creativity, playfulness & individual one on one attention.

  2. Art Therapy is joyful creative & playful. Young people are naturally attracted to creating.

  3. Studies prove young people who spend 1 hour each week receiving individual interactive attention from an adult will flourish and succeed in all areas of their life.

  4. Art therapy meets most if not all young persons developmental capacity because there are diverse ways of communicating through the art materials.

  5. Art therapy is accessible for persons with neurodiversity, such as Autism.

  6. Most young persons don’t refuse art therapy & want to return each week - happy & willing to commit to art therapy.

  7. Evidence suggests that when young people are involved in activities they enjoy they feel better, flourish & no longer feel depressed.

  8. Art therapy treats anxiety by allowing anxiety to be expressed verbally and creatively through art making. Often children walk into a session anxious and leave the session light and exhilarated.

  9. By treating anxiety we prevent anxiety leading to depression.

  10. Art therapy provides direct access to the young persons unconscious, this is where limiting beliefs, attitudes & perceptions are held.

  11. Art Therapy can transform limiting beliefs, attitudes & perceptions, into liberating & empowered beliefs.

ART THERAPY WORKS & IT GETS TO THE ROOT OF THE ISSUE.
